So, this list isn’t in order of best to worst; we’ve organized them alphabetically.
Key features that hold true for all companies on this list:
American Amicable, in business since 1910, boasts an “A” rating from both A.M. Best Company and the Better Business Bureau.
There are no restrictions on how the money is spent, and some policies are available with no waiting period.
Founded in 1909, American Home Life holds an “A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau and a “B++” rating from A.M. Best.
They offer various riders, including a terminal illness rider, a nursing home rider, and an accidental death rider that enhances the death benefit.
Gerber, established in 1967, holds an “A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau and an “A” rating from A.M. Best.
Gerber offers a guaranteed issue life insurance product, accepting everyone with a two-year waiting period. There are no additional riders available, and coverage ranges from $5,000 to $25,000.
United Home Life, established in 1948 under Farm Family Life, holds an “A-” rating from both A.M. Best and the Better Business Bureau.
They offer both guaranteed and “express issue” policies, the latter being simplified issue with no waiting period.
If you choose the guaranteed issue plan, there is a three-year waiting period. Express issue plans offer additional benefits, including accidental death coverage, terminal illness accelerated benefit rider, and a child rider.
The child rider provides coverage for children aged 30 days to 18 years, with the option to convert the coverage into their permanent plan.
